My Top 5 Favorite Artists to Follow on Instagram
I started by own instagram account for my artwork @marytess.artist at the beginning of this year and I absolutely love how supportive and encouraging the platform is. I'm grateful to have made new friends and followers as I strive to keep posting consistently. Below is a list of accounts that I truly enjoy following and that I find great inspiration from. I hope you enjoy!
This is one of the first art blogs I came across a few years ago and I find her instagram feed to be pure eye candy! Its all curated by an artist and author named Danielle Krysa. I love how she shares her own collages which always have interesting compositions and entertaining titles. She even has a podcast I enjoy listening to while I'm in my studio called "Art for your Ear" where she interviews a different artist each week.
I forget how I stumbled upon this pop artist on Instagram but I am so happy that I did! Not only is her art beautiful, creative and fun but I love the way she consistently shares awesome motivational quotes and fun gifs. I highly recommend following her if you want to inject some amazing energy and joy to your feed. Just promise me you won't be offended by her consistent use of the f bomb.
#3 Ai Wei Wei
One of my favorite modern artists today. I love how he doesn't caption any of his Instagram posts, I believe this generates an interesting dialogue in the comments section for all of his followers. Most of his posts are political but I also enjoy seeing glimpses into his everyday life. I find it all quite interesting and unpredictable and I'm sure you will too.
#4 Tara Leaver
If you love positivity, embracing your creativity and the color blue, Tara is the artist to follow. Her artwork has a beautiful, calm ocean quality to it. As an artist who is still developing my own technique and practice, I really enjoy her encouraging and honest posts about the creative process.
I wanted to finish with a local artist I enjoy following on Instagram. He is based out of Sacramento and I just love seeing his "morning sketches and coffee" along with his creatively composed paintings of flowers. His feed is beautifully simple and consistent if you want to see some fun color combinations.
If you have any other favorite artists that you love to follow on Instagram, I would love to hear about them in the comments!
